Reunions

I've always thought school reunions are pathetic when people who used to do an activity together years ago gather 10, 20, 30 years later why do people do these gatherings? to see what happened to everyone who stayed who left who became successful who changed completely who disappeared who died who stayed with their first love they assess careers relationships appearances social status personal growth accomplishments what a lousy way to acknowledge parents aging friends dying divorces illnesses careers ending children becoming adults places disappearing what a ridiculous way to be reminded that we all walk toward our graves each day every day what an absurd way to briefly return to the world you used share and see whether it still exists I've always thought these reunions are pathetic they are actually beyond pathetic especially when you get invited to one
