The Mother

The mid late afternoon church has let out with July sunset glitter it's pre-sunset there is this mother and son walking into the church's big hall both have prescription glasses on she has this purply blue shirt on two breasts underneath two independent islands she's about 55 her breasts are begging for some space freedom independence from her bra the son has a clean-shaven face he's childlike a manchild following his mother carrying a reusable bag this woman the mother has strong, big thighs growing out of the solid ground there is something masculine about her no man/father in sight the son seems caring and kind puppy-like fearful of losing sight of his mother country of origin Greece or Italy the son seems bored uninterested in his mother's late afternoon church visit he has no option but to be led by her curiosity in God's house
